About

I am currently a senior at Rochester Institute of Technology studying New Media Design (cias.rit.edu). Over the past couple of years I have grown quite fond of development, finding that it opens so many doors when it comes to implementing uber creative ideas. I am really passionate about new technologies, new ideas and creativity. Lately a lot of my work has used API’s and other data sets to create visualizations of information that hopefully either inspire people, make them laugh or make them think. Within the past couple of years I have come to really value the importance of collaboration with others, realizing that a good group (or pair) of people can make a good thing spectacular.

In my free time I enjoy museums and art galleries (my friends say I have an unhealthy obsession with this), coffee shops, people watching, movies, bars, friends, Swiss design, blogs, gadgets, heavy books, philosophy, documentaries, podcasts, fine dining, thinking and my favorite place of all…NYC. I’ll be graduating in May and I’m looking forward to starting the next step in my life (my Career…eeek!). Until then I’m hoping to avoid senioritis and rock out for the last part of my senior year!

    Hi Rachel,

I saw that you are currently enrolled at RIT and majoring in New Media, a field that I would like to enter in the future. I’m currently looking at colleges and RIT is my number one choice right now. However, I’m too far away from RIT to visit the campus or experience its atmosphere, so I’m looking for your opinion of the college and the New Media program. Is there anything you can tell me, good or bad, about RIT and the New Media program?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks,

    Sawyer
